On December 7th 2017, the Wood Industry Convention – second edition ended with the announcement of the winners of the Student Design Contest. The winner of the first-place was Vlorjan Pacarizi, the second-place winner was Vildane Maliqi, and the third-place winner Arian Berisha.
The top 40 of the best designs selected by jury members from the 2nd edition of the Student Design Contest were exhibited during the two-day Convention and also presented in a catalogue. The competition was a great opportunity for young students of interior design and architecture from several universities in Kosovo to propose designs for furniture pieces of interior design concepts that can be realized in real life, and expose their talent to the existing wood processing companies – their future employers.
In addition to the certificates of achievement and monetary prizes awarded, one company offered the opportunity for internship and employment for some of the contest finalists.
The second edition of the Wood Industry Convention was organized by the Association of Wood Processors of Kosovo (AWPK), USAID EMPOWER Private Sector in partnership with SIDA, the EU funded project ICEP, Ministry of Trade and Industry and Kosovo Investment and Enterprise Support Agency (KIESA).
