On March 21st 2018, the USAID Deputy Assistant Administrator for Europe and Eurasia Gretchen Birkle was joined by USAID Mission Director James Hope, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Swedish Embassy Goran Paulson, USAID Economic Growth Office Director Brian Martalus and team at a visit at Dekoriti.
The company’s Development Manager Riad Durguti and owner Enver Morina gave a tour to the visitors and talked about the company beginnings many years ago, and their plans for the future. Dekoriti produces high quality wood furniture and custom-made wooden design elements, such as doorways, decorative wall panels and counters, often combining wood and stainless steel.
EMPOWER Private Sector in partnership with Sida – Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency has supported Dekoriti with a grant to enable the purchase of a new painting line essential for product quality improvement and worker health and safety, increase exports, and create 21 new jobs.
Dekoriti currently employs 34 people and exports over 50% of its products.
