On January 31st, 2019, the USAID EMPOWER Private Sector project in partnership with Sida signed a grant agreement to support the establishment of the BONEVET makerspace in Kaçanik. This will be the BONEVET Foundation’s third makerspace in Kosovo, following its success in extending the spirit of creativity and innovation to youth and kids in Gjakova and Prishtina.
The grant of €49,365 will enable BONEVET to finance inventory and equipment costs for the Makerkids Module and 3D Printing Module and cover costs for office equipment. It is expected that through the support, four full time jobs will be created, and more than 285 individuals will be trained in the first year.
BONEVET (DoItYourself) was founded in 2014 to encourage imagination, creativity, and team building. It helps young people learn the academic and emotional skills they need to work in teams while communicating, cooperating and becoming critical thinkers.
